From America the sardinian traditional songs: The Tenores de Aterùe

From America the sardinian traditional songs

From far away America, a group of experts, passionate about sardinian traditional songs visited the island to bring the fruits of their study and their passion. They are the "Tenores de Aterùe" who have honored Sardinia with a mini tour to visit the places where is born early polyphony and the folk linked with ancient Sardian singers. The group was founded in 2004 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and has as its founding fathers in Carl Linich and Douglas Paisley  both virtuosos of traditional music and Avery Book and Gideon Crevoshay.

Their first encounter with the polyphony of Sardinian songs took place on YouTube in a video interview of the choir "Mialinu Pira" Bitti.

Since that day, it was love at first listen, a lot of study and a successful online fundraising to realize the dream of bringing their research work in the world.

We visited their YouTube channel collecting some of their videos and we are honored that Sardinia has crossed the oceans coming so far!

Listen to them you too will be enchanted ..
